Some pictures to give a feel of Bangkok. TukTuks abound in Bangkok with their noisy, butane powered engines and their amazing turning circles.

Jim Thompson re-invigorated the silk industry in Thailand after WW2. He supplied the silk used in the film "the King and I".
His house was a beautiful oasis of peace in the hectic noise and bustle of Bangkok.

Not all of Bangkok is modern and pleasant. The stench I had to deal with while taking this shot is a smell I never want to assault my nose with ever again.

There is a park in Bangkok called Lumpini Park. I was a bit surprised to see they have 6 foot monitor lizards living in the lakes in the park.
The first picture shows the size of the lizard against a park bench.

Opposite the school Mark's son worked at was a beautiful temple. The photographs can not do justice to the colours on this temple, especially the blue.
The last picture shows the school.

The Grand Palace in Bangkok is one of the most lavish, luxurious places I have ever visited. The colours were stunning and the only two
problems were the size of the crowds and the ongoing repair work. The last picture shows a close up of the feet of the gold guards in the previous picture.
